Great effort by the university and the employers at this tough time, such an encouraging activity.

When the pandemic-induced lockdown forced all activities online, physical career fairs too became impossible. Here at Career Fair Plus, we have long been committed to using our technological know-how to help talent connect with opportunity at career fairs. The increasing importance of these connections during times of uncertainty was not lost on us. Instead, we wanted to make sure we maintained our commitment to candidates and employers alike and worked hard to turn around a mobile-friendly platform to host a virtual career fair in record time. Brunel University was one of the first UK institutions to utilise our new platform to host a virtual career fair and we were both pleased to announce its success! In the weeks since rolling out our new virtual fair platform, we have helped over 15 more organisations host successful virtual career fairs, building on experiences shared by Brunel University and others to continually improve. We’re proud to say that our commitment to candidates and job-seekers, as well as to our customers in Career Services Offices around the world has been upheld in a post-COVID world and we look forward to helping many more.

Quick and easy to get appointments. Companies diligently followed up for a phone conversation.

I had a really good phone appointment with an employer earlier today. It was great to be able to just book through the app as this gave me time to prepare beforehand.

"I had a really productive conversation with Blake Morgan, it was nice to just have the time to talk about internship opportunities and how the current lockdown is impacting us. I didn't even have to wait in a queue."

We had a really positive experience at the Brunel University virtual careers fair, both in terms of the planning and organisation beforehand, and in engaging with a diverse cohort of students on the day itself. It was beneficial to promote Six Degrees to so many people, and we spoke with a number of students who were interested in our graduate scheme, so it was a success all round and we look forward to attending similar events in the future.
Six Degrees Groups
The virtual careers fair hosted by Brunel university proved to be a great initiative amidst the current climate. It was very well thought-out and organised, via the help of the application Career Fair Plus, providing contact details and CVs for each student. It was wonderful to speak to students about their career aspirations and hear their enthusiasm, as well as provide some help in these times of uncertainty.
Tata Consultancy Services
It was great working with a group of such engaged students to help them critically assess the structure, content and delivery of their responses to interview questions. I was particularly impressed by how the students encouraged and assisted one another during the session, and accepted constructive criticism with such gratitude.
Bright Network
the event was a great success, using some dynamic and creative thinking to run the careers fair in unusual circumstances. It meant students were easily able to identify organisations they were interested in speaking to, and it was great from our perspective to be able to speak 1-1 with students and tailor our discussions to their interests.
Civil Service Fast Stream
I was privileged to be part of this well organised event and to assist and support so many engaged students. I will be at the next one if I can! As an employer volunteer, I got a lot out of the process as well as the students, I hope. It was well attended and not hindered by being a virtual event.

Brunel University’s Virtual Careers Fair event has given us the opportunity to reach out to a wide talent pool and share our opportunities with the students who may otherwise not have heard about the fantastic opportunities we offer. Through the Careers Fair, we were able to connect with the next generation of talent, and our current graduates and placement students on the project were able to share their experiences of working in a team delivering an important infrastructure project. We met with ten students at the event, and many of these went on to apply for our current student placement opportunities. In the current climate, where meeting and engaging with new talent is a challenge, the event offered us an effective solution, and we are optimistic about the development of these links going forward.

We would like to thank everyone that helped promote the event, all of the employers and staff who participated and of course CFP for giving us the opportunity to host this event virtually!
